Since its establishment in March 2001, Daejeon Development Research Institute, renamed Daejeon Sejong Research Institute (DSI) in 2016, has continuously been developing its organization and functions while enhancing its research capacity.

For the past 20 years, DSI has been an innovative research institute, supporting and fostering the happiness of its citizens as well as being an institute striving for international and regional cooperation. The institute has consistently accomplished its three strategic objectives: ranging from conducting a leading, future-oriented research on urban planning policies to building communities replete with passion and creativity, as well as in producing high levels of research productivity devoted to the implementation of meaningful policies.

DSI, a think tank for both Daejeon City and Sejong City, will assume new responsibilities in contributing to the enhancement of mutual solidarity and cooperation between the two cities aiming for an equitable and balanced regional development in both Daejeon-Sejong city areas. At the same time, DSI will devote its utmost effort into achieving its goal of a balanced national development by fully accomplishing capital relocation, which has long been a long-standing desire of citizens of the Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong provincial areas.

DSI promises to continuously support the development of the two cities while striving for inclusiveness, innovation, effective communication, and participation by cherishing the values of fairness and trust, so that residents can thrive for and envision a happier future.
